Since 1991, Charles Kokoros has owned and operated Braintree Cleaners, which sponsored local youth sports teams, PTO's, road races, and many local fundraisers for groups within Braintree.

Staying close to the town he loves, Charles Kokoros attended Suffolk University to pursue a marketing degree, graduating in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences.

Charles Kokoros attended Braintree public schools from grades K-12, graduating with the Class of 1983 from Braintree High School.

TOWN COUNCILOR,
DISTRICT 1 (2008-2019)
  • As Town Council President, created council agenda, ran council meetings in an orderly fashion and helped create town ordinances for the betterment of Braintree
  • Analyzed and approved town budgets with a strong focus on capital improvements
  • Kept in constant communication with councilors, constituents, and the Mayor
CHAIRMAN: BOARD OF SELECTMEN (2004-2006); MEMBER (2003-2008)
  • Created $1.4 million/year capital plan for improvement of schools and roads
  • Appointed new police officers, and promoted sergeants, lieutenants, and deputy chief
  • Negotiated and settled employee contracts
  • Ran day-to-day operations of town
CHAIRMAN TRI-TOWN WATER BOARD (DECADE OF SERVICE)
  • Responsible for running meetings and setting agenda

  • Maintained and made improvements to the reservoir system

  • Developed a plan for creation of a regional water treatment plant

  • Initiated project to increase water capacity

SINCE 1993...
Charles Kokoros has served a number of different roles in the Town of Braintree, and has worked at almost every level in many departments to advocate for a better Braintree. Other roles he has served include: Town Meeting Member (District 1 and 11); Chairman of Public Safety Committee; Chairman of the Water and Sewer Commission; Park Commissioner; Chairman on Special Committee on Opioid Epidemic.
